Soumaya Museum

Project overview

This large-scale projection mapping installation transformed the iconic façade of Museo Soumaya in Mexico City into an immersive visual surface. The building’s complex architectural geometry required careful technical planning, precise projector positioning, and close coordination between the projection and media server teams.

Technical role

I worked as the Projection Technician responsible for planning and executing the projector installation. My role included defining the mounting positions, coordinating the setup, and overseeing the maneuver required to lift and install the projectors on a previously assembled projection tower.

Technical approach

I performed the physical alignment and individual adjustment of each projector to achieve the required coverage across the museum’s façade. Once the projection system was correctly positioned, focused, and aligned, I handed over a fully prepared visual canvas to the Disguise Operator, allowing the final warping, blending, and content alignment to be completed within the media server project.
