V-Con 2024

Project overview

V-Con Malaysia was my second V-Con production, building on my previous experience with the event’s technical and operational requirements. This large-scale international convention combined corporate presentations, multimedia content, and live artistic performances, requiring detailed preparation and close coordination from pre-production through the final show.

Technical role

I was involved from the pre-production stage as the main video contact for the client. My responsibilities included technical planning, creating the required screen objects, preparing the media server project, and coordinating the video requirements directly with the client. On-site, I worked as the Video Operator for the second shift, installing and configuring the media servers and preparing the complete system for operation.

Technical approach

I installed and configured four Disguise vx 4+ media servers equipped with VFC HDMI output cards and connected to a Lightware 48 × 48 matrix. During the show. During the show days, I managed the content playback workflow by receiving, loading, reviewing, and validating media files. I organized the content on the timeline and triggered each cue according to the client’s requirements. I also supported the artistic group’s overnight rehearsals, updating the programming and playback sequences to accommodate changes and ensure every element was ready for the live show.
